UMAP Credit Transfer Scheme (UCTS)
Ube Frontier University and Ube Frontier College highly recommend the use of the UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific) Credit Transfer Scheme or UCTS in the exchange program.
UMAP is a voluntary association of government and non-government representatives of the higher education (university) sector in the Asia-Pacific region, which strives to achieve enhanced international understanding through increased mobility of university students and staff. UCTS works along the same line at the European Credit Transfer Scheme (ECTS), with which the UMAP organization is striving to hook up in the future.
In UCTS, 60 credit points represent a full-time student’s workload for a full academic year. This compared with credits at Ube Frontier University or Ube Frontier College makes that 1 credit at Ube Frontier University or Ube Frontier College is equivalent to 2 UCTS credit points approximately. Students enrolled in the program are advised to receive an academic transcript, which lists both the number of credits at Ube Frontier University or Ube Frontier College and its equivalent in UCTS credit points.
Students applying to the exchange program should check whether the UCTS scheme is available in their study fields and whether they can obtain a UCTS ‘Record of UMAP Study Program’. After they have selected courses for a semester, students should have the Record signed by academic staff at both Ube and their own institutions.
